Supported Independent Living
Helping you to live your best life
Being able to choose where you live, who you live with, and the supports you need on a day-to-day basis is a big part of independent living.
Elevate Disability is committed to helping you or your loved one to achieve the fulfilling home life you deserve, by assisting you to live your best life.
As an NDIS Supported Independent Living (SIL) provider, our skilled carers are here to partner with you to deliver a support program focused on your needs and guided by your choices. By getting to know you and understanding your interests, your likes and dislikes, and goals for the future, we can map out the best possible programs to support you at home.
The most important aspect of the support we provide is that you feel safe and nurtured. It’s our privilege to be trusted to help you on your path to greater independence.
How Elevate Disability can assist you
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is the perfect option for adults with complex disabilities wanting to strike a balance between assistance and independence in their daily lives.
Elevate Disability’s SIL services cater to those with a range of needs, from low care through to complex care for those who require full-time support, 24 hours a day, seven days per week. See the NDIS for information on housing and living supports and services.
If you’re aged between 18 and 65 years, living with a disability, and looking to change your housing arrangements, we’d love to talk to you about how we can help.
Elevate Disability is here to assist you to:
- Develop individual program plans that outline goals, aspirations, and desires for independent living.
- Develop and maintain friendships and community connections.
- Access social and recreational activities.
- Manage and attend appointments outside the home.
- Complete forms and other types of communication documents.
- Maintain a household.
- Manage accommodation and tenancy obligations.
We will also work with you to develop increased independence through skill development in areas such as:
- Financial and money management.
- Shopping and household tasks, including cooking and domestic duties.
- Social skills.
- Using public transport.
How to access Supported Independent Living
To be eligible for SIL, it must be budgeted for within your NDIS plan. This is something your NDIS Support Coordinator will help you with. If you are not funded for Support Coordination, our team is happy to refer you to the Local Area Coordinator (LAC), who will help you to develop your NDIS plan to include SIL resources.
